Rewards trip!

Last year, as the term came to an end, I rewarded myself with a retro tape dispenser! Very cool and sticky, so does the job.

This year I aimed higher...a trip to London to catch the Grayson Perry Show The Vanity of Small Differences.

Despite not meeting up with Grayson and heading out to lunch to talk stitching, all things Essex & tribes, I had a ball. The vibrancy of the tapestries was inspiring; not just the colours but the subjects, words, scale & conversations around the way he deals with the concept of class and vanity.

I've included some close up snaps of the tapestries - things you can easily miss.

No cultural icon was left out - cupcakes!

Dreaming of shopping centres...

Religious symbolism not missed.
The message about having it all?
