Playing out!

Did you play out when you were a kid? I'd shout through the letter box, 'I'll be up the golfie with Jane, Theresa and Mandy and back by teatime.'

I was in a diffrent part of the city yesterday and as I headed back to my car I found the road closed at both ends and discovered a wonderful event, road closed for street play. 

In our busy city Victorian roads there is little space for safe, free-play, but an organisation called Playing Out have set up afterschool play every Monday on the street I was parked.

What a brillaint idea - feeling inspired to do something like it, then you will find heaps of advice and support on their website here.
